Fagan2025-04-1210 Tranquility in paradise @ Natural Garden Boutique Hotel ☺ We wanted an intimate atmosphere that made you feel relaxed to the utmost. Your facility did not disappoint. Even though construction was ongoing, it did not cause too much of a bother. Thomas, the manager, was very accommodating. He made sure we were taken care of and addressed any issues that may have arisen immediately. The rooms were cleaned daily and promptly, and we loved the personal touches left on the bed with the towel design and fresh flowers. Samuel and the other wait staff, who worked in the morning, were an absolute pleasure to be served by. They were tested by certain individuals in the group, and yet they kept their composure with a smile and pleasant disposition. The evening wait staff was also very patient with the demands that were put before them. Vaul at the receptionist's desk was wonderful. The entire staff was kind, friendly, and enthusiastic about teaching me and anyone else who wanted to learn Swahili. Also, I would like to acknowledge that all the staff at this hotel have mastered the art of positive customer service, which speaks volumes to Manager Thomas's leadership style. He is the best. Thomas, thanks for taking the time to instruct my son on the proper way to do kite surfing using your kite to do so. It showed me that you paid attention to the little details and our potential interests. Because of your kindness and professionalism, If ever I return to Zanzibar, I will choose the Natural Garden Boutique Hotel. I will also recommend it to a colleague who will visit Zanzibar in June. One drawback that is the norm in Zanzibar is the excessive amount of flies that are present while eating. However, we ate lunch at the Rock restaurant and noticed a wooden device carved into the center of the dining table to catch flies. Having a meal at this restaurant was much more enjoyable due to the fly trap. Maybe consider adding a similar device in the kitchen, at the bar, and dining area. THE QUINTESENCE OF PEACE AND RELAXATION
THE QUINTESENCE OF PEACE AND RELAXATION
Jambiani is an enchanting village located in the central part of the east coast of Zanzibar. As soon as you wake up, you will be awaited by a soothing view of the turquoise waters of the ocean splashing against the stunning white-sand beaches. You will also be able to view the constant spectacle of ebbs and flows, which is hard to miss at this place – the water recedes almost to the horizon. Each tide of the ocean reveals the typical landscape of Jambiani – stakes of underwater algae cultures and women in colorful kangos bustling around them.

INFORMATION AND INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT ZANZIBAR

Swahili – phrases
In Zanzibar, life flows to the rhythm of the words "pole, pole" - slowly, slowly and "hakuna matata" - don't worry. These phrases perfectly reflect the temperament of this place and the openness and cordiality of its residents. JAMBO - hello, MAMBO - hi, HAKUNA MATATA - don't worry, POLE, POLE - slowly, slowly, KARIBU - hello, welcome, ASANTE - thank you, KWAHERI - goodbye.

The great ocean tides
Zanzibar is famous for its great tides. These regular water level movements are due to the gravity of the Moon on Earth. During low tide, the water moves back from several hundred metres to even 2 kilometres. When the water disappears, you can walk on the bottom of the ocean, which then reveals its treasures.

Arusi – wedding in Swahili culture
A wedding in Zanzibar lasts at least a few days. The condition for concluding a marriage is to make a payment - it is paid into the hands of the bride's father. The bride and groom do not take the oath together because the groom pronounces it in a mosque where women are not allowed. The traditional wedding dress of the bride is green - unfortunately, it is being more and more often replaced by white dresses from the West.
